Since his call to the bar in 2005, J.F. has maintained a broad and varied civil litigation practice and regularly represents his clients as counsel in all levels of court, administrative tribunals and commercial arbitration.
Over the years, J.F. has developed a thriving employment law practice, helping and representing both employers and employees, regarding terminations, severance packages, employment standards, disability management, and human rights issues.
Other areas of litigation practice include real estate, municipal, commercial, corporate, estate, insurance, and personal injury. J.F represents businesses, municipalities, insurance companies, and government agencies. He also acts for individual plaintiffs and has done so for years.
J.F. is a successful litigator. Between June 2021 and February 2024, J.F. won eight consecutive appeals at the Ontario Court of Appeal and Divisional Court. In three of these decisions, J.F. convinced the appellate court to overturn the lower courts’ decisions.
Before becoming a lawyer, J.F. attended the University of Ottawa for his undergraduate studies and graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2004.
J.F. is fluently bilingual and provides legal services in both French and English. For seven years, he taught employment law as part of the Paralegal Program at La Cité Collégiale, a local college of applied arts and technology. He is also an elected director of the board of a condominium in Ottawa since 2009. He is currently the Vice-President.
